​Our parish exists to meet the needs of its members, and to help those members in times of hardship. We worship together as a community of believers. We support one another’s values and beliefs. We nurture the faith of our members in a variety of ways including Sunday school, and bible study group.
St. John's mission is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. St. John's does this as it prays and worships, proclaims the Gospel, and promotes justice, peace, and love.

St. John's believes outreach in our local community and beyond is hallmark to the life of our parish.
People of all ages from Pleasantville, Hawthorne, Thornwood, Valhalla, and other neighboring communities make up our parish. We come together from a range of faith backgrounds including lifelong Episcopalians, those who have joined from another Christian faith, mixed-faith families and individuals seeking a deeper connection to God in their lives.
