Each Sunday, Rev. Chris, a visiting cleric, or a member of the community will preach a sermon based on the Scripture readings assigned for the day by the lectionary used in the Episcopal Church. The point of the sermon is to “break open” the Word of God and help us better understand how it applies to our lives as part of the Gospel (or “Good News”) of Jesus.
The sermon weaves together the Christian story, the congregation’s story, and the preacher’s story in the context of the Scripture readings and what is happening in the life of the world. It seeks to give us practical tools to live out our faith throughout the week.
We hope this archive of recent sermons will help you in your own journey of discipleship.
